What are runes? Whу don’t they accept everyone?
Runes are magical symbols that have come to us from the Northern tradition, from the Northern gods. They are a magical tool for transforming the world. We learn how to use them correctly.
However, runes do not accept everyone. This means that a restriction on working within the pagan tradition may arise — for example, if you are a Christian. Therefore, it is important to consult your patron. The one who oversees you is the one who should grant or deny permission for you to work with runes.
Quite often it happens that, for example, the Christian egregore allows a person to study runes, leads them to a certain point, and then says: “No, you have learned this tool, but you cannot undergo initiation. You cannot dedicate your consciousness to the Northern gods.” Or, on the contrary, it may simply lead a person away, despite their purely mental desire to work with runes. Alternatively, a patron, perceiving this desire, may say: “No, I forbid you”— and this happens quite often lately.
Sometimes the runes do not accept a person, considering that they cannot teach them. The thing is, runes are a tool that is more suited to representatives of the warrior caste than to any other. It becomes clear that when runes are placed in the hands of laborers — especially when they are taught how to use them — they tend to be reduced to tools for casting curses and basic divination.
