“The basis of the old pagan tradition was the inseparable connection of humans with the forces of nature.”
Ksenia Menshikova, “Health Through the Power of the Elements”
What is the Wheel of the Year? Why are its eight ancient festivities so significant, and how do they influence human consciousness?
Throughout the calendar year (the Wheel of the Year) all four elements pass through stages of dormancy and awakening, forming eight pivotal points of power. At these moments of transition, an elemental reconfiguration of space takes place.
The ritual traditions of the Slavs and Celts were designed to attune human consciousness to the rhythms of natural forces during moments of transition, and over time they evolved into highly refined practices. Ceremonial practices for people, as well as magical rituals for volhvs and druids, carried the principle of agreement. As the mind aligned itself with changing vibrations, it seemed to say to nature: I am part of you, I am with you, I do not resist — I too move into a new state.
We invite you to journey through the eight sacred turning points of the Wheel – to uncover the true meaning behind ancient legends and to reconnect with the ritual traditions.
We will also explore the unique traits of those born during these festive periods – how it influences one’s state of health, and what can be done to restore the natural power within.
Through this exploration, may you rediscover the eternal rhythm of Nature and the ancient wisdom that dwells quietly within us all, waiting to be remembered.
