Why Do People Believe In Conspiracy Theories?

AD LIB Department, Magic in Q&A

Why do people believe in conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories arise when there is a lack of information, when the information is hidden or deliberately distorted, when people are lied to. Sources of mass disinformation, deceptive propaganda, and other distortions imposed upon the human mind. Trust your intuition.

Conspiracy Theories — Why Do People Believe in Them?

“From an esoteric perspective, why are some people inclined to unquestioningly accept conspiracy theories, which have flourished so vividly in recent decades?”

Conspiracy theories arise when there is a lack of information.

And when does information become lacking? When it is hidden or deliberately distorted. Contrary to popular assumption, it would be a great mistake to believe that people are merely ignorant fools through and through. People may truly not know certain things; many may lack education, some may lack life experience, and others — by the very nature of their soul — may still possess a kind of naivety that continues to tell them they live in a democratic society. And yet people still possess intuition, and sometimes it works better than knowledge itself. It tells them when they are being lied to.

Conspiracy theories usually flourish in soil richly fertilized by total deception. When conspiratorial thinking begins to spread, it is often a reaction in itself — a pendulum swinging toward the search for alternative information. And when does the pendulum begin to swing? When the false component within the informational current becomes overwhelming and exceeds all reasonable limits.

The experience of recent years has shown that many conspiracy theories have, unexpectedly, turned out to contain more truth than much of what was presented to us by sources of mass disinformation, propaganda, and other distortions imposed upon the human mind. There would be far less conspiracy thinking if there were less deception to begin with. People sense when they are being lied to, and so they begin searching for other sources of information — usually ones that stand in direct opposition to the official narrative.

The pendulum usually swings in both directions, yet often with the same degree of falsehood on either side. Truth, as always, lies somewhere in between. Understanding that everyone distorts reality in one way or another, try instead to find the points upon which opposing sides unexpectedly agree. Somewhere there, approximately, lies the golden middle ground — the version that is at least somewhat closer to the truth.

Trust Your Intuition

From the very beginning, do not place blind faith in anyone. Trust instead your own intuition and your own capacity for reason. Remember that the frightening narrative presented by one side is often just as false as the frightening narrative offered by the other. Though, at times, there are exceptions.

Some fragment of truth may exist within the information presented by both sides. But here, no one can help you except your own intuition — which must be cultivated, respected, and carefully nurtured within yourself. Treat it as though it were your greatest treasure, something that belongs to you and to you alone.

If one looks at things from this perspective, then conspiracy theories, deceptive propaganda, and both official and unofficial currents of information become far easier to understand. And beyond that, it becomes clearer why all of this is being done. You begin to understand that whenever there is war, everyone lies. And war is not always blood, bombs, and killing. Sometimes there is informational warfare — silent, deceptive, smiling on the surface. And truthfully, it is difficult to say which is worse, because one kills openly, while the other kills through falsehood — yet both still destroy.

About the Menshikova School

The Menshikova School offers education in magic, Runes, the Elements, and Tarot.

Ksenia Menshikova is the founder and head of the School, as well as the author of books on the development of magical abilities.

The School’s mission is to pass on to students the technologies and methodologies that awaken and develop their magical potential.

Magical consciousness is not a “gift from above,” but the result of deliberate self-transformation through will and reason. Only those who possess both can truly become a mage.
