Rune Algiz
Its traditional meaning: sedge, protection, patronage.
The goal and task in studying this rune is to establish and develop a connection with your protector, guardian, or patron.
Thoughts that appear suddenly. Insights seemingly from nowhere. The help and memory of your ancestors and lineage. All of this serves as an additional source of information for you. It protects and helps you to fully manifest your Self, your personality, your Essence, and fulfill your destiny.
Our distant ancestors said: “Choosing a god is choosing a fate.” This phrase carries an enormous and multifaceted meaning.
Algiz — the patronage of your god.
Firstly, you have the right to choose. Each god, each religion that glorifies it, reveals some quality of the universe, pointing to a specific characteristic. By choosing a particular god as a guide and protector in life, you make this quality, this aspect of the universe, the main and primary one for yourself.
Secondly, by determining your god in life, you have the right and begin to live to manifest a certain quality inherent in this god, this facet of the universe. By making this choice, you can drastically change the course of your life. The events and situations within the scope of a particular deity’s attention help you achieve results by fully manifesting this quality of consciousness, personality, and god.
There is a spark of divinity in every person. The god who contributed to the creation of your immortal soul. A part of the god’s identity that was imparted to you. It is crucial to identify your individual “source,” understand and realize which deity’s personality served as the foundation for forming your Soul and, consequently, your personality. Realizing your triad means maximizing your safety in life and obtaining a level of protection and security you couldn’t have dreamed of before.
Determining this is not easy, but it is not impossible either. Especially if you know where and what to look for. It’s enough to recall which legend, myth, religion, or family history awakens a “sacred awe” in your soul. Which god’s life story, if you can put it that way, makes you feel that everything written and told about them is about you. That in similar situations, you would probably act the same way. Love the same way. Hate the same way. And if given the choice, die the same way.
Algiz — protection.
To determine this, you need a little — knowledge. Knowledge of history, knowledge of mythology, curiosity driving you to search. And the absence of fear that you might be punished for it. This will never happen because gods have the quality of protecting and safeguarding “their own,” helping them in their development and search.
By developing and enriching your soul, you develop and enrich the personality of the god with whom you are one.
Protection is an inner state. It appears when there is a sense that everything happening to you is right. Not good, not bad, but right. When a person feels strength within themselves, they are capable of many things. Even overcoming space and time (which has always been unthinkable for people). But that part of you, which is the essence of protection, does not know that this is impossible.
