Thor’s Hammer – Runic Protective Stave

Thurisaz – Teiwaz – Thurisaz is the classic runic formula of the god Thor — Thor’s Hammer, Mjölnir, the weapon of Thor.

Two very powerful runes, one of which belongs to Tyr and two to Thor. The twofold power of Thor. Tyr awakens your inner truth, and Thor stands guard over it. This formula also serves as a powerful protection against magic and sorcery. It shields against magical influences — not only from external threats and hostile forces, but also from the dangers that arise within.

What does Thor’s Hammer Do?

The formula may reveal hidden vulnerabilities within your consciousness — weak points that cause you to yield to magical influence. These vulnerabilities prevent you from maintaining your own natural shield, leaving you dependent on runes or the power of the Gods for protection.

Thor actually highlights the points of physical vulnerability. The Thor’s Hammer formula exposes where your defenses are weakest — where you failed to provide protection, where a breach has appeared in your natural warrior’s armor. For example, it may reveal that your greatest enemy is your smoking habit and help you break free from it with surprising ease. How to Use Thor’s Hammer?

You may inscribe the Thor’s Hammer (Mjölnir) formula on your body, on a photograph, or create it as an amulet. If you choose to make it into an amulet, the traditional recommendation is to carve it onto a small oak plaque. On one side, inscribe the formula Thurisaz – Teiwaz – Thurisaz. On the reverse, carve the Algiz rune, indicating to the formula that its purpose is protection.
